Lisa McGahan, director of corporate relations, has been named New Hampshire Motor Speedway's Salesperson of the Year for 2016. McGahan received the award on Thursday night in front of friends, family and her Speedway Motorsports, Inc. peers in Las Vegas, Nev.

McGahan managed more than 60 accounts this year, nearly a 30-percent increase from her 2015 numbers. She also increased her 2015 book of business by 68 percent and exceeded her overall sales goal by 27 percent.

"Lisa has been a rock of stability for our company, and the deep relationships she has forged within our industry have come to fruition this past year when needed most. It has been an honor to see her win this award," said Michael Ziegler, the speedway's vice president of corporate sales. "To far exceed her sales goals while assuming greater responsibilities within our company is a true testament to the dedication Lisa has for New Hampshire Motor Speedway's success."

A lifetime native of the Granite State, McGahan's primary responsibilities as director of corporate relations includes overseeing hospitality staff during race weekends, managing the Victory Lane Committee, managing the invoicing process for the sales department, and writing all contacts for NHMS. McGahan has also been instrumental in transforming two former interns into full-time employees with the speedway.

"It's an honor being named Salesperson of the Year," said McGahan. "Having a passion and motivation for building strong relationships through sales, matched by the vision of the speedway, is a recipe for success. I am eager to see what the future has in store for New Hampshire Motor Speedway."

Starting at NHMS in May of 2006 as an assistant to the vice president of sales and marketing, McGahan quickly ascended to her current position of director of corporate relations. Born and raised in Windham, N.H., she received her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire in 2001. McGahan currently resides in Manchester, N.H., where she lives with her husband, Devin, and their six-year-old daughter, Madison.

Along with a trophy and internal awards from the speedway, McGahan was honored with a trip to Las Vegas to attend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony on Friday.
