At New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), New England’s only NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) weekend is more than just a few hours on the track – it’s a full summer getaway built around camping, entertainment and NASCAR excitement. From RV tailgates and late-night concerts to drama on “The Magic Mile,” fans turn the weekend into an annual tradition with friends and family. Whether visitors want a lively party atmosphere or a relaxing family camping trip, NHMS offers a race weekend experience unlike anything else in New England.
Camping Turns Fans into Family
The NHMS campgrounds create a community atmosphere that keeps fans coming back year after year. Neighbors share food, racing stories and weekend traditions while thousands of campers transform the speedway into a lively home away from home. Fans can begin moving into select campgrounds as early as 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, giving visitors extra time to settle in and enjoy the full race week atmosphere.
A Campground for Every Style
NHMS offers camping experiences for every type of fan. Some campground lots are known for high-energy tailgating, music and late-night entertainment that attract groups of friends and younger fans looking for a festival atmosphere. Other camping areas offer a quieter, family-friendly setting where campers can relax, grill dinner and enjoy the weekend at a slower pace. The variety allows fans to create the exact race weekend experience they want.
Nonstop Entertainment Starts Wednesday
Race week entertainment begins well before the NCS takes the green flag for Sunday’s Dollar Tree 301. Starting Wednesday, fans can enjoy live music, dirt racing, driver appearances, fan activities and campground parties throughout the speedway. The weekend’s racing action includes the Team EJP 175, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) regular season finale, and the Mohegan Sun 100 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) race on Doubleheader Saturday and the Dollar Tree 301 – one of the final NCS races before The Chase begins. With postseason spots on the line, every lap at “The Magic Mile” carries extra intensity.
Why Fans Keep Returning
Fans consistently rank the thrilling racing, electric atmosphere and campground camaraderie among the best parts of the NHMS experience. For many visitors, the weekend becomes less about attending a race and more about reconnecting with friends and creating lifelong memories. At NHMS, fans don’t just watch NASCAR – they become part of the community.
