The summer may be half over but, "The Magic Mile" is heating up in August with 19 days of on-track action for racing enthusiasts.

Car clubs will invade the early part of the month on the 1.6-mile road course when North Country Region of the Porsche Club of America (Aug. 1), Sports Car Driving Association (Aug. 2), New England Region of the Sports Car Club of America (Aug. 3 - 4), Porsche North America (Aug. 7) and Sports Car Club of New Hampshire (Aug. 11) comes to town.

Looking to get involved with drifting? The Team O'Neil Rally School will be at NHMS on August 3-4 with their Drift Driving Course. This course helps drivers progress their skills with different levels of instruction that cater to everyone from beginners to intermediate drivers. Towards the end of the month, North East Drift Co. will keep grassroots drifting fun and alive on August 25. Spectator wristbands are available for purchase for both events at the Operations window at the Main Entrance at NHMS on the day of the events. Two wheels take to the track when motorcycles come to town. If you're just learning how to ride a motorcycle or want to fine-tune your riding skills, check out Penguin Roadracing School August 16 prior to the Loudon Road Race Series taking on the road course for round five of the 2019 season, August 17-18. The following day, average street riders can bring their own motorcycle to join Tony's Track Days on August 19-20 to hone their riding skills in an environment void of typical road hazards. Legend cars will accompany the LRRS weekend with MOAT Mountain Road Course Series, August 17-18 and 24.

Want to get behind the wheel of a sports car or race car? NASCAR Racing Experience will take over "The Magic Mile" on August 10-11 putting fans behind the wheel of a NASCAR stock car. New to the speedway this year is the Great Inflatable Race on August 31. Feel like a kid again as you jump, dive and bounce on custom-designed inflatable obstacles spread throughout the running course.

Rounding out the month, the Sunapee Racing Team will continue to hold cycling events at the speedway every Thursday through September 12. Cyclists from all over New England participate in and promote the sport of competitive cycling with a keen emphasis on its long term viability and growth.
