Necessities

Mobile Tickets
You can't get to your seat without 'em! Follow our step-by-step guide to download your mobile tickets.

Ear Protection
Auto racing is loud, and we recommend noise-reducing headphones.

Sunscreen, Hat & Sunglasses
The sun can be strong, especially in the grandstands, and a sunburn will ruin anyone's day.

Layered Clothing
Be sure to check the weather report ahead of time, and pack the appropriate clothing for the temperature and conditions.

Comfortable Walking Shoes
At 1,200 acres, the property at NHMS is large, and while we provide trams and golf cart shuttle services to and from the grandstand area, there is still some walking to be done. Please wear appropriate footwear for getting around.

Additions

Photo of Parking Lot Sign
The Gil Rogers Highway five-lane road spans about three miles through our property, so make sure you take a photo of the sign closest to where you parked. This will help ensure you find your car much faster after the race.

Seat Cushion
All seating at NHMS is grandstand seating. Cushions are acceptable for your comfort, but please note that seat backs with arms are prohibited.

Representation of Your Favorite Driver
If you're new to NASCAR or need to pick up any additional merchandise, be sure to check out Souvenir Hauler Row located behind the Main Grandstand (NASCAR Cup Series weekend only).

Clear Bag (Recommended) or Soft-Sided Cooler Stocked with Water & Food
We do have several food and beverage options available for purchase on-site, however we do allow clear bags or soft-sided coolers of 14" or less in dimension into our grandstands, and we encourage you to pack plenty of water, other drinks (yes, alcohol is allowed) and food. No glass, please! Hard coolers are not allowed through the ticket gates, and clear bags are recommended, as that will help expedite the bag-check process.

Tailgate Essentials
Many of our fans choose to tailgate before and/or after the race. Be sure to bring everything that you might need for a successful tailgate, including:

  • Grill & Grillware
  • Propane/Charcoal
  • Plates & Utensils
  • Food & Drinks
  • Napkins
  • Lawn Chairs

Racing Electronics Scanner (NASCAR Cup Series race weekend only)
Curious what drivers talk about during the race? With a scanner, you can tune in to your favorite driver and team communication for uncensored audio or listen to the radio broadcast. Rent a scanner now, as they will not be available for day-of rentals.
