Going into the final T.N.T Legends race of the season at BRMS, Evan Beaulieu was 3 points behind Kevin Hutchinson. Starting the race in the rear of the field, the 56 legend car quickly made its way to mid pack, when a wreck took out most of the leaders including the #27 car of Hutchinson.
Evan recalls as seeing the 27 car make it through the field back towards the front and with 5 laps to go, “I knew the opportunity was there to take the championship when I saw the 27 have issues. I saw the 27 was coming back, so I was peddling hard."

The racing line up was set by qualifying practice time, Shaun’s teammate Tom Gray took the pole for the feature event.
The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour was back at the rough and tough 3/8th mile Unity Raceway for what would sure to be another thrilling event. Going into the event, defending champion Bob Weymouth held the points lead over Evan Beaulieu and Terry Kirk, which with the two year end throwaways given to each driver for their worst two finishes, makes this to be a very interesting battle for the points lead. While the three title contenders were in their own battle, the rest of the field was ready to go for a win at Unity Raceway.
The third round of Thursday Thunder at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour did not disappoint, as usual. 21 Legends Cars took to the track and they had a tough act to follow up after a great race last week. With Kirk, Hutchens and Dore starting at the rear, it would be interesting to see who would pull off the victory tonight.
Every time the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour visits the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, there is bound to be a good show put on. This past Thursday night was even better than most with some of the most aggressive and hardest racing ever seen out of the Legends Car drivers. Normally, the cars that are open wheel for the most part are not supposed to touch without consequence, but tonight, the drivers were able to make it work, but run as clean as the tour is known for, running caution free.

Not only was this a regular points race, but it was a National Qualifier for the Legends Road Course Nationals being held later this year. The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour made the trip up to Unity Raceway for the second straight race at the tricky oval this past weekend. It was set to be a great race with a mix of rookies and veterans in the field, with the top three from last weekend starting at the rear of the field, trying to make their way to the front in just 25 laps. The Unity stands were once again packed with eager race fans, the sun was out and it was set to be a great night of racing.
The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour took a right turn this weekend as 16 of the best Legends drivers in the Northeast competed on the 1.6 mile road course at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The first of two road course races for the tour came during the popular 21st Annual Vintage Celebration week at NHMS. While the drivers were used to only making left turns, the added challenge of turning right, and the over 100 mph speeds, made it a very exciting race.
Shaun Buffington won the Amsoil Nelcar Legends race, which closed out the 21st Vintage Celebration. Bob Weymouth finished second. Mathew Bourgoine took third, his first career top-three. Watch the video!
The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour was back in the granite state this past weekend, at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The last time the tour showed at the quarter mile, it was Shaun Buffington who dominated the event and took home the checkered flag. If Buffington wanted to continue his dominance, he'd have to beat out some of the best Legends Cars drivers in the North East.
The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour traveled to Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts for the first time in over a decade and the first time the Legends Cars had ran there in six years. The small and rough track offered a unique challenge to the small and tough to drive Legends Cars and their drivers. With a lightning storm lingering in the distance and rain in the area, the teams ran through their three practices and the 21 Legends Cars took to the track for their heat races.
The 2011 Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour season got an exciting start to the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Half the field had already ran at the tight quarter mile when the series opened for the Nascar Sprint Cup Series last September, but the other half were a mix of veteran drivers and rookies who had never driven on this type of track. Many drivers describe this as the “most intense” Legends racing they had ever done and rightfully so, the race saw plenty of action and had a great finish. First up though was practice.
Legend Car racing, one of the fastest growing and most affordable types of American motorsports, will kick off its inaugural full season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this Saturday afternoon, beginning approximately at 5:15 p.m.
Powered by a motorcycle engine, a Legend Car is a purpose-built race car designed to resemble the legendary American automobiles of the 1930s and ’40s. Drivers range in age from 12 to 65 years old.
