• JUNE 5 Track officially opens as New

Hampshire International Speedway
• JUNE 17 67th Annual Loudon Classic is
the speedway’s first professional race

• JULY 13 Jeff Burton won the NASCAR

Cup Series Jiffy Lube 300 in two hours, 42
minutes and 35 seconds, setting the current
NHMS record for the highest average speed in
a NASCAR Cup Series race at 117.134 mph

• SEPTEMBER 19 Joe Nemechek scored

his first career NASCAR Cup Series
• JULY 15 Tommy Ellis won the first win at the Dura Lube/Kmart 300
