New Hampshire Motor Speedway will see some two legged racing next week when the 20th Annual D.A.R.E. Classic 5K returns to “The Magic Mile,” on Wednesday, August, 4.
The D.A.R.E. Classic consists of a one-mile fun run beginning at 6:00 p.m. and a five-kilometer road race beginning at 6:30 p.m. The course is a paved double loop starting on the speedway track through pit road. It includes portions of the 1.058-oval and 1.6-mile road course.
Registration is required for the five-kilometer race. Runners can pre-register by July 30 for $15 or post-register for $20. Tee shirts will be given to the first 300 entrants and can be picked up on the event day.
Trophies will be awarded to the top-two runners both male and female in eight different age categories. In addition, there are two separate classes for Law Enforcement teams. To be considered for the Law Enforcement team, members must be a sworn in State, County, Federal, or Municipal Police Officer.
Once again the New Hampshire State Police K-9 Unit will be on hand giving demonstrations throughout the event.
All of the race proceeds benefit the New Hampshire D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) programs in the State of New Hampshire. For more information, please visit http://www.dareclassic.com/.
