The American Canadian Tour (ACT) prepares to become “Supersized” this week at “The Magic Mile” with test and tune sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, as teams get ready for the upcoming ACT Invitational during the SYLVANIA 300 weekend.

The 78 teams will convene this week at NHMS with the same goal, to capture one of the coveted at-large bids for the 60 mile all-star race in September.  With 43 starting positions, only eight drivers have guaranteed spots in the starting line-up, making this practice a crucial element for the ACT Invitational race.

“This is just a great couple of days for our teams. For veterans it is a chance to race a great facility that has been the heartbeat of stockcar racing for the past 20 years, and for our younger teams it is really a dream come true.  The hard part is sorting out who gets the invites for the September race after the practice sessions end,” said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour.

Representatives from all six New England states, New York, and Canada will bring the excitement of short track late-model racing to the big stage in the only super speedway on the ACT schedule. Notable drivers scheduled to attend the test and tune session include; last year’s winner Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass., Nick Sweet of Barre, Vt., and Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., the current ACT points leader.

Other New Hampshire Motor Speedway ACT Invitational qualifiers include; David Pembroke of Montpelier, Vt., Miles Chipman of Epping, N.H., Patrick Leperle of St-Denis, Quebec, and Karl Allard of St-Felicien, QC.  Other qualifiers will include race winners, point’s leaders, and previous champions

The ACT Series will be part of an exciting triple header on Saturday, September 18. They will run immediately following the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events.
