Recognizing their valued contributions in previous roles at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, David McGrath and Jessica Ferreira have been promoted to vice president and director of their respective departments. McGrath takes over as the new vice president of corporate sales, while Ferreira ascends to the director of events position.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Jerry Gappens officially announced the promotions today.

"David and Jessica bring fresh and innovative ideas along with passion and a commitment to excellence in their respective roles here at the speedway," said Gappens. "Anytime you can promote from within it's certainly a positive reflection of their growth. Both are committed to delivering a positive experience for our guests and corporate partners."

McGrath, 50, joined the speedway in November of 2011 as the director of advertising and promotions before being promoted to vice president of the same division in January of last year.

In his newest role, McGrath oversees all day-to-day details of the corporate and group sales departments, as well as heads the hospitality and sponsorship sales for the largest sports and entertainment facility in New England, which hosts two NASCAR Sprint Cup race weekends and more than 400,000 fans each year.

"With my background in sales management, this new opportunity will be a great and rewarding challenge," said McGrath. "I'm excited to work with this team and continue to help New Hampshire Motor Speedway deliver an outstanding marketing platform for our partners and reach our respective goals for 2014 and beyond."

Prior to joining New Hampshire Motor Speedway, McGrath worked in motorsports as the marketing manager for the pro racing side of Sports Car Club of America in Englewood, Colo. There, he was responsible for sponsor acquisition, contingency programs and marketing from the sponsorship side to a fan base of over 55,000.

McGrath most recently worked for Comcast Spotlight as the area sales manager for northern Colorado and Wyoming. McGrath served as the ad sales manager before moving to the Portsmouth, N.H., office as a local sales manager.

Born and raised in Marlboro, Mass., McGrath moved from New England to Colorado in 1989, where he spent 19 years until moving back to New England in 2008. McGrath currently lives in Kennebunk, Maine, with his wife, Marybeth, and two children Garrett, 17, and Samantha, 9.

McGrath is a graduate of Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colo., where he received a B.A. in speech communications and a minor of English.

Ferreira, 23, joined the speedway as an intern in the events department before moving into the role of events specialist in May of 2012. Ferreira was recently promoted to events manager before moving into role of director of events.

As director of events, Ferreira is responsible for nearly all activities the fans will experience on an event weekend sans on-track racing. Activities include, but are not limited to, the NASCAR pre-race show to be seen by over 100,000 race fans, victory lane post-race coordination and FanFest, a fan-driven event which officially kicks off each NASCAR race weekend.

"These past two years with New Hampshire Motor Speedway have ignited a passion and respect for the motorsports industry and its fans," said Ferreira. "I am thankful for the opportunity and I look forward to the new challenges and responsibilities ahead."

Prior to joining the speedway, Ferreira worked as a teller and customer service representative for TD Bank in Nashua, N.H., where she currently resides.

Ferreira is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, N.H., where she received a B.A. in sport management.
