For the second consecutive time at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Juan Pablo Montoya captured the pole position, this time for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday.
Driving the No. 42 Target Chevrolet, Montoya turned a lap time of 28.781 seconds with a top speed of 132.337 mph.
"Pretty much every week, as a team an as a driver, we try to drive the wheels off the car," Montoya said. "We always seem to qualify well and race well here."
Kasey Kahne driver of the No. 9 Budweiser Ford qualified second with a lap time of 28.820 seconds and at a speed of 132.158 mph.
The third starting position went to Kurt Busch, driving the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge, with a speed of 132.062 mph and a lap time of 28.841 seconds. Busch is a former race winner, taking the checkered flag in the 2008 LENOX Industrial Tools 301.
