The 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season officially concludes tonight in Las Vegas, when Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus and the entire No. 48 team collect their fifth consecutive championship.

The hectic week began on Wednesday, when the top-12 drivers participated in a friendly game of “Speedway Feud” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. During the match-up NASCAR’s best answered questions about themselves and fellow competitors.

On Thursday, Las Vegas Boulevard looked more like a super speedway than a city street during NASCAR’s Victory Lap, where each of the top-12 chasers did celebratory burnouts for race fans.

Also on Thursday, the annual NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon was held, honoring the contingency awards from the 2010 season.  Dale Earnhardt Jr. picked up his eighth consecutive Hamburger Helper Most Popular Driver award and Kevin Conway took home the Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors.

The week wraps up tonight with the anticipated 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series awards ceremony. The exciting performance lineup for the show includes, Rascal Flatts, Colbie Caillat, host Frank Caliendo, Martina McBride and a performance by Cirque du Soleil’s Viva ELVIS.

The 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony airs tonight on SPEED beginning at 9 p.m.

NASCAR’s Nationwide Series and NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series celebrated the 2010 season two weeks ago in Miami. Brad Keselowski claimed the Nationwide Series top-spot and Todd Bodine was crowned the Camping World Truck Series champion for the second time.

The cars and stars of NASCAR will return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway at full speed on July 17 for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 and Sept. 25 for the SYLVANIA 300.
