New Hampshire Motor Speedway will host WMUR's second Project Economy State Job Fair and Career Expo of 2009 on Thursday, August 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
With around 10,000 prospective job applicants expected, the speedway was chosen as the site of the job fair for its experience in hosting large crowds.
Throughout the day there will be a series of workshops and networking opportunities, geared towards providing job seekers with the most important tools to help them in their search for a career. Seminar topics include résumé and cover letter writing, job hunting techniques, the New Hampshire Unemployment Insurance System, job interview and networking tips, career transitions, and even enhancing personal likability.
Over 100 businesses will also participate in the job fair, with stations set up in the designated garage buildings of the speedway infield. Companies in attendance include Aflac, Citizen's Bank, State Farm, and the American Red Cross.
For a complete list of participating companies, or for a detailed schedule, visit the Project Economy section of wmur.com.
Career seekers coming to the job fair should use the speedway's south entrance on Route 106, adjacent to the Shell station, to access Expo parking.
