Wallace Jr. Captures New Hampshire 125 Pole
Darrell Wallace Jr., driver of the No. 6 U.S. Army Toyota set a new track record in the K&N Pro Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway at a speed of 127.602 mph, capturing the pole position for tomorrow’s New Hampshire 125.
“It was a pretty stout day for the No. 6 team,” said Wallace. “We ended up winning practice and now to sit on the pole is awesome. I can’t say enough about the U.S. Army team and Revolution Racing. This is my Dover car so I just have to keep it in one piece and take it to the next race.”
This is Wallace’s second pole of 2011 and his first at “The Magic Mile.”
Rowley, Mass. native Eddie MacDonald will start second in tomorrow’s 125-lap event. MacDonald boasts two wins, three top-five and 10 top-10 finishing positions in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at the 1.058-mile oval.
“We are really happy with our second place qualifying run,” said MacDonald. “We are just really excited to start on the front row.”
The New Hampshire 125 is slated to begin at 5 p.m. Friday.
