Carl Edwards has never won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. On Sunday, Edwards will have a terrific opportunity to land his first victory at the Magic Mile after taking the pole in Friday's qualifying session for the 5-hour ENERGY 501.

"I've struggled at this racetrack, so this is big for me," said Carl Edwards, who is one of four Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota drivers to qualify in the top 10. "It just feels right. It's good to be driving a Toyota right now. My expectations for Sunday are to the best we can. My hope is that we win."

This is Edwards's 14th pole in 392 NASCAR Cup races. This is his first pole and 10th top-10 start in 2015, and his first pole in 22 races at NHMS.

Joey Logano will start on the outside of the front row, while David Ragan, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin round out the top-five starting positions.

Logano is a two-time Magic Mile winner. It's the best starting position of Logano's career in New Hampshire, having never qualified better than sixth in his previous 13 starts.

"We've turned it into a good racetrack for our team," said Logano, who won last September's SYLVANIA 300 Chase race at NHMS. "It is special when you take one do your worst racetracks and turn it into one of your best."

Ragan posted his first top-10 start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and his seventh in 19 races this season. Ragan is hoping to piggyback the success of Brian Vickers, who won in the No. 55 Aaron's Toyota in July of 2013.

"It is encouraging to know our team won (here) recently," said Ragan. "It gives you a lot of confidence. We have those pictures of our recent win here back in the shop, but we have to make sure we do things right today to make sure this car goes fast."

While Edwards's personal success at the Magic Mile is limited, he's hoping to capitalize on the success of his team and crew chief Darian Grubb, who has won here with Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart.

"The car is fast and not only that it drives very well," Edwards said. "Darian has seen it all and done it all and that is why I'm happy he's in my corner."
