Shane Narbonne led the Loudon Road Race Series back to NHMS for the 2012 season with a win in the "Dash for the Cash" Middleweight Grand Prix.  Narbonne sat first in the standings for the class midway through 2011 before commitments to professional racing in the American Motorcyclist Association took precedence.

Eventual 2011 champion Eric Wood led the first half of the eight-lap race before he was overtaken by Narbonne and forced to settle for second.  Scott Greenwood, another regular in Victory Lane, finished third.

In Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour, 2011 series champion Evan Beaulieu edged the 2011 NHMS track champion Shaun Buffington in a back-and-forth race.  The win was Beaulieu's first at "The Magic Mile," in large part due to Buffington's dominance at the track.  With the exception of two races last season in which Buffington was spun out, he'd never been beaten on the track.

The 12-lap Moat Mountain road course race featured one of the most exciting finishes in NELCAR's brief history at the track as both Beaulieu and Buffington came out of the final turn with a chance to take the checkered.  Not too far behind the top-two finishers as Buffington's teammate Tom Gray, who started on the pole and finished third.
