This is guaranteed to be the fastest week in Granite State history. INDYCAR is racing to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for an action-packed weekend during the INDY® 225.

The series visited the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Sunday and it was Scott Dixon who led the way during the Honda Indy 200. Passing his teammate Dario Franchitti on lap 61, Dixon never looked back as he captured his first win of the 2011 season.

Dixon looks to continue his winning ways this weekend at “The Magic Mile.” He is one of the few drivers who actually has experience at the 1.058-mile oval. He joined Tony Kanaan last summer during a tire test session.

The INDYCAR action begins in New Hampshire on Thursday when both the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Firestone Indy Lights Series kick off the weekend by taking laps around NHMS for the first time in 13 years. Practice sessions begin at 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Friday, the mighty Whelen Modified Tour and the American-Canadian Tour will host both practice and qualifying sessions beginning at 9 a.m.

Also on Friday, the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities will feature a New England themed clam bake for fans with INDYCAR stars Helio Castroneves, Pippa Mann, Ryan Briscoe, Sebastian Saavedra, and Alex Tagliani. The Chat and Chowdah will start at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by contacting the NHMS Speedway Children’s Charities director Cheryl LaPrade at (603) 513-5738 or by e-mail at

Saturday is filled with excitement both on and off track. The racing begins with IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights Series practice and qualifying. The day will wrap up with a short-track double header featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the American-Canadian Tour.
