The Loudon Road Race Series wrapped up its 2011 season this past weekend at a banquet in Manchester, N.H. The two-wheeled stars celebrated their exciting year, which included 27,609 laps of racing on New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s 1.6-mile road course.

Rick Doucette was once again the star of the event. The Sandown, N.H. native captured seven championships in six different divisions including the prestigious NHMS Track Champion award for the second consecutive year.

“I just really want to thank my team and all of my sponsors for their hard work,” said Doucette.  He later went on to thank his fellow competitors as well. “I can honestly say that the only reason I am able to win all of these championships is because of Eric Wood and his Penguin Racing School. I have sat in on a lot of classes and it really does help.”

Fan favorite Wood also captured his share of hardware during the awards banquet, including the Dash for Cash/Middleweight Grand Prix championship trophy.

“I truly appreciate having all of this great talent to race against each week,” said Wood. “I also want to say thank you to my exceptional family who support me week in and week out. It’s great to be able to share these awards with them.”

Amsoil NELCAR Legend Car champion Shaun Buffington was on hand to accept his award. Buffington captured an astounding eight out of 10 races Legend Car at “The Magic Mile” this season.

“I just want to thank my family for making every season a great racing season,” said Buffington. “We are looking forward to racing with the bikes again next year and we enjoy watching them race each week.”
