SCCNH Grant Distribution Ceremony Recipients 2019 Thumbnail

The holiday spirit filled The Palace Theatre in Manchester, N.H. on Tuesday as Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig joined Speedway Children's Charities New Hampshire Chapter at its 11th annual grant distribution ceremony. Grants were handed out to 51 local nonprofits totaling $55,375 in front of the festive backdrop from "A Christmas Carol."

Since its inception in 2009, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and SCC have distributed more than $1.8 million, supporting more than 808,000 children in the local community.

    Director of business development, Steve Kirkpatrick, has been named New Hampshire Motor Speedway's Salesperson of the Year for the second time for exceeding expectations in the corporate sales department. Kirkpatrick received the award on Tuesday in Nashville, Tenn., where NASCAR is hosting its annual awards banquet.

    Three more short track races have been added to New Hampshire Motor Speedway's Full Throttle Fall Weekend, September 11-12, 2020. The fresh new lineup will include the American-Canadian Tour and Granite State Legend Cars along with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and ARCA Menards Series East and will crown four season champions during the two-day event.

    Long time motorcycle racers John Grush and Eric Wood have been named co-executive directors of NHMS's Loudon Road Race Series.

    The 2020 LRRS schedule features eight weekends of Championship Cup Series motorcycle racing including seven events at NHMS. Through a new partnership with CCS, LRRS will race for the first time at New Jersey Motorsports Park July 4-5. Likewise, the CCS Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic championships will have a round at NHMS during the 97th annual Loudon Classic, June 19-21.

    With the holidays fast approaching, NHMS is getting into the spirit by trading in the checkered flags for 2.5 million twinkly lights during the Gift of Lights presented by Eastern Propane & Oil. The ninth annual event spreads holiday cheer for 35 days with fundraising for the local community from Nov. 28-Jan. 5.

    This year, the 2.5-mile drive-thru light show is bigger and better with 520 displays and 80 different scenes opening at 4 p.m. daily including Thanksgiving and Christmas. The out of car experience includes the s'mores pit and $5 pictures with Santa Claus on Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 21.

    The 2019 champions from three local racing series were honored at the annual awards banquet held for the first time at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. on Saturday, November 16.

    Two New England racers - Rick Doucette of the Loudon Road Race Series and Shaun Buffington of the MOAT Mountain Road Course Series and the legend car division of J&J's Yolk & Co. Oval Series - each took home 2019 Track Champion titles from New Hampshire Motor Speedway in their respective series.
