Though White House staffers are officially calling it a “campaign visit,” New Hampshire Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Jerry Gappens can’t help but wonder if President Barack Obama’s real motivation for visiting the Granite State on Monday is to pick up his tickets to the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July 15.
The resourceful Gappens put some tickets in President Obama’s name at the “Will-Call” window in the NHMS ticket office today, just in case the “Commander and Chief” wanted to witness the largest sporting event in New England.
Who could blame Obama for racing over to the speedway in his Secret Service Motorcade on Monday? By getting his LENOX Industrial Tools 301 tickets he could see first-hand one of America’s most popular sports and all the top NASCAR stars as they compete in the 20th anniversary, celebrating the first Cup race at “The Magic Mile.”
“If the president wants to be part of our celebration then we have tickets printed, ready and waiting for him,” said Gappens. “To my knowledge he is one of the few recent, acting presidents never to attend a NASCAR race in person. With the rich tradition of New Hampshire’s ‘First in the Nation Primary,’ and great racing action here at’ The Magic Mile,’ this is a perfect place for him to come. You can’t get more ‘Americana’ than a NASCAR race!”
If you’re not part of President Obama’s entourage, don’t worry. You can still buy your tickets at nhms.com or by calling the NHMS ticket hotline at (603) 783-4931.
