New Hampshire Motor Speedway is inviting all race fans to take a lap around the track with their favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver to support children’s programs throughout the region, with the help of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) this weekend.
A lucky race fan will get the opportunity to take the “Ride of a Lifetime” around the “Magic Mile” before the start of the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on Sunday, June 27. The NASCAR Foundation will hold an online auction beginning Sunday, June 6 through Sunday, June 20. To place a bid on your favorite driver please visit,www.sccrideofalifetime.com.
The auction is included in another full weekend at the “Magic Mile.” The World Karting Association (WKA) will be here on Saturday, June 5. Once again on both Saturday and Sunday, riders in the Cystic Fibrosis Trail Ride will leave from and return to the speedway. And finally, the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will be back for the fourth time this season.
The WKA is a membership-owned, non-profit corporation formed in 1971 to regulate and promote the sport of competitive kart racing. They establish the rules and procedures to set standards by which to sanction tracks and to conduct annual championships for various types of karting. WKA has grown to over 10,000 active members and 120 sanctioned tracks nationwide to make it the largest sanctioning body for kart racing in the United States and one of the largest in the world.
Riders in the Cystic Fibrosis Trail Ride will enjoy scenic trail rides throughout New Hampshire on both Saturday and Sunday. The journey is approximately 100 miles each day.
The New England Region of the SCCA gives fans the unique opportunity to see a wide range of sports cars including racing sedans, sports racers, and formula/open-wheel racers.
During all SCCA event weekends, infield wristbands (good for the entire weekend) can be purchased at the speedway's main gate for $25. Children 11 and under are free.
