Senior Account Executive Jeff Tagliaferro has been named New Hampshire Motor Speedway's 2013 Salesperson of the Year.
Tagliaferro, who started at the speedway in June of 2012, has made an immediate impact in the corporate sales department. The Bedford, N.H., native handles over 50 accounts on a daily basis and has landed 15 new clients over the last year, including Chip Ganassi Racing, Homans Associates, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare and Central Paper. He was also influential in landing the New Hampshire Travel and Tourism speedway showcar, which was a major showpiece at several NHMS community-related events throughout New England.
"Passion alone won't get you over the mountain, that takes other skills that Jeff displays day in and day out," said David McGrath, vice president of marketing and promotions at the speedway. "One just has to look at his daily call sheet to see how he frames his day around consistently developing new business calls, consistently creating strong relationship building opportunities for the speedway's revenue growth today and tomorrow."
Tagliaferro was instrumental in the handling the speedway's largest sponsorship partner OSRAM SYLVANIA, which hosts the annual SYLVANIA 300, the second race in NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. Among the major changes Tagliaferro made to ensure this was the "best race weekend to date," according to executives at OSRAM SYLVANIA, was to relocate the hospitality suite to the infield, increasing its size and visibility. OSRAM SYLVANIA has sponsored the SYLVANIA 300 since 2003.
"He is without a doubt the caliber of account executive you want on your sales team," said McGrath. "Showing the other members the way, he was an obvious choice to be recognized as our 2013 Salesperson of the Year."
Tagliaferro previously spent four years as the General Manager of Wildcat Sports Properties/Learfield Sports at the University of New Hampshire.
