LOUDON, N.H. - With 12 wins in 85 career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour starts, Bobby Santos is no stranger to victory lane. New Hampshire Motor Speedway's Sunoco Victory Lane is another story. In 15 starts at the Magic Mile, Santos had never so much as registered a top-three finish. Until Saturday, that is. The native of Franklin, Mass., won an incredibly intense green-white-checkered finish for his first-ever victory at New Hampshire.

"This is definitely my biggest mod win in my career for sure. We have talked for years about winning at Loudon," said Santos, who "This is our Super Bowl, and these guys work so hard. For whatever happens the rest of the season, we won at Loudon and that is pretty awesome."

Santos held off Doug Coby and Ted Christopher, who have combined for seven wins at the 1.058-mile oval. Christopher, known for his exciting and aggressive tactics, tried a dive-bomb move in the final turn, but couldn't make it stick, which gave Santos the win and Coby and opportunity to grab second.

"With a green-white-checkered finish, you can think about all the scenarios that you want to do," said Christopher, whose last win at NHMS came in 2008. "Obviously, I picked the wrong one."

"It was close coming off Turn 4, about an inch between us," said Coby, the defending race champion. "Bobby could have cut down and wrecked all of us. Glad that didn't happen."

Ryan Newman, who won the inaugural Whelen All-Star Shootout on Friday night, was a top-five car all race - but had to settle for fourth. Ryan Preece finished fifth. Preece will cap off this three-race weekend at the Magic Mile in the Sta-Green 200 Nationwide Series race slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.

A limited number of seats for Sunday's Camping World RV Sales 301 are still available. To purchase tickets please call the NHMS ticket hotline at (603) 783-4931 or by visiting www.nhms.com.
