During the SYLVANIA 300 weekend, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Tommy Baldwin Racing are offering the ultimate modified fan ticket package for just $71.
The exciting package will include a grandstand ticket for Sept. 25's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' SYLVANIA 300, as well as a ticket for the Sept. 24 triple header, featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour's New Hampshire 100, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' F.W. Webb 175 and the American-Canadian Tour Invitational. It will also include a 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame yearbook and a 2012 inductee photo card rack from the Hall of Fame.
Guests who purchase this offer will be entered into a drawing to become an honorary pit crew member for Bobby Santos during the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race. They will also be entered to watch the green flag drop on Sunday from the No. 35 pit box of Steve Park until his first pit stop.
In conjunction with the package, Tommy Baldwin Racing will pay tribute to two modified greats, Len Boehler and Richie Evans, with three different drivers throughout the action-packed weekend.
Len Boehler was an owner, car builder and mechanic from the late 60’s to the early 70’s. Boehler ran a coupe modified that was beat up and built with junkyard parts. Competitors later nicknamed it “Old Blue,” and the name stuck. Despite its appearance, the car was extremely fast. It won six NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championships and grabbed over 400 feature wins throughout the team’s 54-year history.
Richie Evans is recognized as the "king" of modified racing. He captured nine NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championships in a 13-year span, which included eight consecutive championships from 1978-85. "The Rapid Roman" collected multiple track championships and hundreds of victories throughout his career. He will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. on Jan. 20, 2012.
Local fan favorite Steve Park will honor Boehler behind the wheel of TBR’s No. 35 “Old Blue” Chevrolet during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Park is no stranger to finishing well at “The Magic Mile.” He boasts five wins, 16 top-five’s and 24 top-10’s throughout his NHMS career.
Also during Sunday’s SYLVANIA 300, Dave Blaney, driver of the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet for TBR, will pay tribute to Evans by running an orange and light blue paint scheme, modeled after the last modified Evans drove.
On Saturday, the 2010 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Bobby Santos will run a similar paint scheme on his No. 4 “Mystic Missile” Dodge during the New Hampshire 100.
