New Hampshire Motor Speedway is accepting entries for the track's first TUMS "Chowdah" Challenge. The best homemade clam chowder, a regional specialty throughout New England, will be chosen in a live cook-off on Sunday, September 19. The contest will be judged by some of the biggest names in NASCAR and the track executive chef.

The winning chef will receive the following prizes:

Clam Chowder named the Official Clam Chowder of New Hampshire Motor Speedway for 2011, which will be served in select eateries and premium menus throughout the track

Five finalists will be selected by the sponsors from the recipe submissions and will be called by Levy. Starting at 8:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, September 19, finalists will have two hours to prepare and present their signature "chowdah." Judging will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the TUMS Fast Relief Zone located in the Manufacturer's Display Lot. The final prepared dishes will be judged by NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip and former driver and current SPEED analyst Jimmy Spencer and Levy Restaurants Area Chef Sam Carlsen. NASCAR driver David Reutimann also will be on hand to assist. Levy Restaurants is the official restaurant partner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Recipes must be received on or before 12:00 p.m. (ET) on September 15. Finalists will be notified by phone on September 16 therefore a valid phone number must be provided. Finalists must also be able to be present at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, September 19, to participate in the contest, and be able to prepare the recipe to feed judges and spectators. Levy Restaurants will supply cooking equipment and clams for all participants, and contestants must provide the rest of their ingredients.
