With an anticipated crowd that far exceeds the Super Bowl, Final Four, NBA Finals, World Series Games or the Stanley Cup playoffs, race fans can bet that the SYLVANIA 300 weekend will bring cooler temperatures and hot competition when the seventh consecutive “Chase for the NASCAR Cup” rolls into New Hampshire Motor Speedway, September 16-19.

New England’s home for NASCAR racing will once again lead off the sport’s 10-race playoff system in dramatic form.  Last year, in an exciting late-race duel with Juan Pablo Montoya, Mark Martin won his first race ever here at “The Magic Mile.”

In September 2008, Greg Biffle ended his 33-race winless streak to grab his first win at the 1.058-mile oval.  Biffle surged past Jimmie Johnson with just 12 laps to go.  He would leave New Hampshire third in points, just 30 points behind the top-two leaders.

Clint Bowyer would run away with his first ever Sprint Cup Series win, leading 222 of 300 laps from the pole position during the 2007 “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.” Bowyer vowed to build a name for himself in the 2007 Chase. He certainly did it winning the first race in the Chase and his first race in NASCAR’s top series.

The SYLVANIA 300 weekend will be jam packed with excitement for all race fans.  NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East and the Whelen Modified Tour will return for the second time this season with the New Hampshire 125 and New Hampshire 100.  The Camping World Truck Series will offer some of the best racing in the northeast with the New Hampshire 175. Finally the American Canadian Touring Series (ACT) will be return for the second year with their thrilling 50-lap shootout, to end a full Saturday of racing.
