As the NASCAR world prepares to celebrate Independence Day weekend at Daytona, New Hampshire Motor Speedway has to tip our hats to Dale Earnhardt Jr. In a recent interview about the upcoming Coke Zero 400, Dale sounded off about what he’s really looking forward to this July.
According to a report in Yahoo sports, here is what Earnhardt Jr. said when asked if he was excited to return to Daytona, where he has enjoyed success in recent years:
“I’m not looking forward to going to Daytona, not with the way the drafting is there. But we’ll just have to see if we can get lucky out there. What’s after Daytona? I will be glad to go there. New Hampshire? I love that place.”
The feeling is mutual for the man who is arguably the most popular driver in NASCAR. Much anticipation follows Dale Earnhardt Jr. right now. He is seventh in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings and he’s had a few oh so close finishes this year. Many analysts are watching for him to win in the next few weeks and fans are expecting a big finish from the No. 88 by the end of the season.
By the way, please let Earnhardt Jr. know that the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 is Sunday, July 17. He has to go to Kentucky Motor Speedway before heading to “The Magic Mile.”
