Before the drivers of the American-Canadian Tour make their debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the ACT Invitational on September 19, the speedway will hold a two-day test session for teams on Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26.
In all, 51 drivers and their teams will participate in the test sessions, including 13 race winners who have qualified for a spot in the Invitational, seven track championship points leaders, and 31 potential at-large qualifiers. The test session will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days.
The Tuesday test session features the stars of the Série ACT Castrol, as well as some local favorites. Both Donald Theetge and Patrick Laperle, the top-two drivers in the Série ACT Castrol points standings, will take to the track. Theetge's win Saturday at Riverside Speedway in St-Croix, Quebec, was his 14th career victory, putting him at the top of the all-time wins list in Série ACT Castrol.
ACT Late Model Tour driver Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., of Hudson, N.H. will also test on Tuesday, along with track veteran Brad Leighton of Center Harbor, N.H. Polewarczyk is currently third in ACT Late Model Tour points standings, while Leighton has eight career NASCAR Camping World Series East wins at the speedway.
Wednesday's test session will include ACT Late Model Tour points leader Scott Payea of Milton, Vt. and Rowley, Mass.-native Eddie MacDonald, the 2008 Lincoln Electric/Airgas Track Champion for the NASCAR Camping World Series East. MacDonald qualified for the Invitational by winning one of four non-ACT events awarding entries.
Grandstand admission to both ACT test session days at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is free. Pit Passes are available each day for $20, with children under 14 admitted into the pit area for free when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The ACT Invitational will be held Saturday, September 19 at 5:30 p.m. as a part of the 2009 SYLVANIA 300 event weekend. Tickets for the Invitational, or any of Saturday's events, featuring the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, are on sale now.
