Eddie MacDonald will cross the Granite Stripe in the pole position when the green flag drops at the American-Canadian Tour All Star Challenge Saturday.

The 2009 ACT Invitational winner used his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East experience to pull away from the field during his heat race today.

“Experience really helps out here,” said MacDonald. “When you get to the lighter car you can drive it so much harder and you can get into the third groove. We have an advantage of having run a lot of laps here.  It's going to be a lot of fun.”

Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, Vt. will start in the second position when the series goes bumper-to-bumper at “The Magic Mile” tomorrow.

“We had a bad tire that started to go away on us, otherwise the car was good,” said Laquerre. “If we are up front, that means you are in the rear for the second heat.  You have to take your time and be careful.”

The American-Canadian All Star Challenge will be part of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Saturday quadruple header that features two races and INDYCAR practice and qualifying.
