LOUDON, N.H. - Totaling 71 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins over their careers, New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials are revved up to announce the inclusion of Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Casey Mears at the July autograph session during the New Hampshire 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend.
The autograph session, scheduled from 5:30-6:15 p.m. on Friday, July 12, is open to fans on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be held in the Display Lot. The autographs will be available by wristband only and supplies will be very limited. Fans may begin lining up for the autograph session at 4 p.m., and wristbands will be distributed first-come, first-serve.
"We've got a former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, a pair of former Magic Mile winners and one of the most legendary names in motorsports all in one place for our loyal fans," said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. "We know how important it is for our fans to get up close and personal with drivers, so it's our goal to make sure that happens. This is a great example of that."
Kenseth, who leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with three wins this season, was a big hit at last September's FanFest, where he answered questions from fans and signed autographs at his souvenir hauler. Kenseth, a 2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, is in his first season with Joe Gibbs Racing and recently represented his team with a visit to the Magic Mile on May 14 and 15, as one of six drivers that took part in a Goodyear Tire Test. While he's never found Victory Lane at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, JGR has a long history of success at the Magic Mile, winning at the 1.058-mile oval five times.
Hamlin has two of those JGR wins, including last September's SYLVANIA 300. Hamlin called his shot on Twitter the week before and delivered, steering his FedEx Toyota into Victory Lane. Hamlin has led 343 of the last 600 laps run at the Magic Mile and should be one of the favorites entering the New Hampshire 300 on July 14.
Harvick has two wins this season, including last weekend's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and currently sits seventh in points. Harvick has 21 career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories, including a win from the pole at New Hampshire back in 2006.
Mears has run in all 11 races, so far in 2013, and will enter Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway as a former champion, having won NASCAR's longest race back in 2007. Mears is the son of former off-road champion Roger Mears and the nephew of four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Rick Mears.
Driver participation is subject to change and without notice. Neither NASCAR, Inc., nor any of its affiliates are sponsors of this event. Due to time constraints, posed photographs with the drivers will not be allowed.
Great seats, camping, hospitality, and VIP packages are still available for the New Hampshire 300 on July 14 or the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 22. Purchase them now by calling the speedway ticket hotline at (603) 783-4931 or by visiting www.nhms.com.
