Scott Greenwood won the Loudon Road Race Series's premiere class, the Middleweight Grand Prix for the second time in 2013.  He ran away from a field that included a battle between Cory Hildebrand and Kip Peterson for the final two spots on the podium.

The field was lighter than usual withe some of the riders choosing not to enter or being out of town for the weekend.  That meant that Greenwood and points leader Eric Wood were heavy favorites to battle for the win.  When Wood had trouble on the second lap, Greenwood took the lead for good.

The race was halted twice for red flags, the second of which was for Hildebrand immediately following the restart for the first red.  He overcame that gaffe to race his way back up to second, although he was challenged by Peterson, who finished third, throughout the second half of the race.

The Loudon Road Road Race Series has just one race weekend left in 2013 on Oct. 5-6.
