The American Canadian Tour (ACT) will be supersized when the series rolls into New Hampshire Motor Speedway this September, the only super speedway on the late model schedule.  The second annual ACT Invitational has room for 43 starting positions up, from last year’s 36, but this season, qualifying races have been ruled by repeat winners.

Nick Sweet of Barre, Vt. was the first qualifier of the season and he did so by winning at his home track.  Sweet was the second place finisher in the inaugural ACT Invitational after being one of the last drivers invited.  He has won two of the seven qualifying events.

Fan favorite Eddie MacDonald will try to grab the repeat win when he returns to “The Magic Mile.”  MacDonald was last year’s Invitational winner and has won two qualifiers so far this year, and hopes to keep the streak going at NHMS. MacDonald is certainly no stranger to victory lane at the 1.058-mile oval.  He has won in the K&N Pro Series East three times.

Brian Hoar, a native of Williston, Vt. has firsthand experience at the speedway.  He has competed in numerous K&N Pro Series East races with a total of six top-fives and seven top-10’s.  He is also the current points leader in the ACT championship standings.

Other New Hampshire Motor Speedway ACT Invitational qualifiers include; David Pembroke of Montpelier, Vt., Miles Chipman of Epping, N.H., Patrick Leperle of St-Denis, Quebec, and Karl Allard of St-Felicien, QC.  The remainder of the 43 car field will be determined by ACT.   Other qualifiers will include race winners, points leaders, and previous champions.

The ACT Series will be part of an exciting triple header on Saturday, September 18. They will run immediately following the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events.
