Each Monday we take a look back at the week that was from around the region.

If you didn't already know, things are in full swing with the Fourth of July holiday week kicking into gear as a lead-up to Sprint Cup Series weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and the Oxford 250. And, predictably, drivers are kicking their game into high gear, too.

Without further ado, let's find out who made The Podium this week:

1. Wayne Helliwell Jr., Dover, N.H.

Helliwell won the first of two 30-lap Late Model features on Saturday night at Canaan Fair Speedway, giving him six straight wins in the division to open the season. In addition, Helliwell also has two ACT Late Model Tour victories.

Helliwell's victory in the NASCAR-sanctioned Late Model division at Canaan helped keep him in the Top-25 in the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Series standings.

2. Tyler Chadwick, Ledyard, Conn.

Chadwick won the 100-lap SK Modified feature event at Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday, one week after an early crash left his Modified wedged in the guardrail barrier at the track. It was the third victory of the season for Chadwick.

3. Travis Stearns, Auburn, Maine

Stearns won the 40-lap Late Model feature at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday night for his second win of the season. He became the first repeat winner at OPS in 2012 with the victory, besting a season-high field of 30 cars to do it.

Honorable Mention

Cris Michaud of East Montpelier, Vt., won the 50-lap Late Model feature at Thunder Road International Speedbowl last Thursday night... Cassius Clark of Farmington, Maine, won his second PASS North Series race of the season – grabbing the Firecracker 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway Saturday... Les Hinkley of Windsor Locks, Conn., survived a wild night at Lee USA Speedway to win the Valenti Modified Racing Series Laticrete Port City 100 on Friday... Craig Bushey of Fairfax, Vt., and Vince Quenneville Jr. of Brandon, Vt., continued their NASCAR Whelen All-American Series domination at Devil's Bowl Speedway with their fourth and third wins, respectively, of the season. Bushey won in the Late Models; Quenneville in the Modifieds.
