Description: Account Planner Summary: The New Hampshire Motor Speedway is seeking highly-motivated and dedicated sales candidates looking to perform within a work environment of a Speedway Sales Office. Responsible for supporting the pre-sale activities for assigned AE’s and/or Accounts, with the objective of fulfilling the following goals: • Increase selling time for sellers • Build a sales development layer allowing for efficient processing of all business • Focus on pre-sale stewardship • Provide consistent, reliable support for sellers and clients
Job Responsibilities: Prospecting • Assist Account Executives in seeking new customers through various prospecting methods including direct mail, television monitoring, radio monitoring, newspaper monitoring, print monitoring and internal research tools
Proposals & Presentations • Aid Account Executives in building client proposals, research industry trends • Assist in the development of sales presentations and materials that address customer needs and highlight the benefits of Sports Marketing with the New Hampshire Motor Speedway • Assist in the planning of client promotions to meet marketing objectives.
Research • Gather research information and data from available sources to assist Account Executives in client positioning (focusing on share growth, churn reduction and new business) • Build qualitative and quantitative snapshots to help potential clients make decisions
Client Relationships • Solidify relationships with key client personnel through Account Executive involvement and direction • Monitor Competitive Media spending for current clients to keep AE’s informed on what else a client may be buying to create up-sell opportunities • Keep detailed reports on all added value, bonus, promotions, and entertainment for each client for tracking purposes and to be used at contract negotiating/up-sell/retention
Sales • Interact with Account Executives regarding research and promotions • Participate in quarterly business plan meetings and take an active role in target accounts by learning marketing objectives, identifying key influencers and decision-makers and brainstorming ideas • Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and conferences as directed • Work with Account executives to generate recap’s and reports
Skills and Attributes • Must have strong ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the company as well as clients • Able to work well as part of a team, with a range of people • Ability to travel throughout market on a as needed basis • Must be flexible and able to work weekends as needed • Regular and punctual attendance required
Experience and Education • High School/GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred • At least two - three years of related work experience required • Microsoft Office Suite required; media software experience preferred
Compensation: Hourly pay/plus commission
