LOUDON, N.H. – Eddie MacDonald had little trouble showing the ACT Late Model Tour field how you get the job done at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

A four-time winner at the track, MacDonald dominated the first 25-lap segment of the ACT All-Star Challenge Saturday morning en route to winning. He'll now start 36th in this afternoon's 50-lap segment.

"This is only half the job today," MacDonald said. "The crew did an awesome job."

Seven-time ACT champion Brian Hoar finished second, while Tom Carey, Joey Laquerre and Austin Theriault rounded out the Top-5.

Brad Leighton rolled from 24th starting spot to finish 10th, while last September's ACT Invitational winner, Joey Polewarczyk finished 11th.

With "Monza-style" scoring for the event, the lowest overall point total from the two segments will be declared the All-Star Challenge winner. This afternoon, it is expected, is where it will get dicey.

"The second 50 laps is going to be really tough," MacDonald said. "We're going to have to start 36th. We're going to have to pass a lot of cars, but we're going to have to be smart about it to keep the car in good shape."

MacDonald, a three-time NASCAR K&N Pro Series East winner at New Hampshire, made it look easy in the first segment.

"It wasn't quite a Saturday morning cruise," MacDonald said. "The car was really good, but Brian (Hoar) had a really good car, too. We really had to push it hard to stay ahead of him."
