Buffington Win Championship
After suffering a DNF (did not finish) on Saturday, Shaun Buffington entered the final race of the Moat Mountain Road Course Series needing a win to ensure himself a championship. He earned that, his 12th win of the season on the layout, and then conducted a championship burnout on the frontstretch afterward.
Buffington's teammate, Tom Gray, who took over the points lead on Saturday finished second, but fell out of the championship position after Buffington's strong run. Both teammates at TSMotorsports were excited about a successful season that saw them claim wins in 15 of 16 road course races and all 11 mini-oval races. Buffington finished first in both series with Gray serving as the runner-up.

Gray Jumps Buffington in Road Course Standings
Tom Gray benefited from the bad luck of his teammate, Shaun Buffington on Saturday. Buffington's engine blew up while leading with three laps to go, and Gray went on to the win the race and take over the points lead.
Buffington had held a 23-point advantage headed into the race, but the 15th-place finish combined with Gray's win, will give Gray the advantage with the final race going off at noon on Sunday. All drivers will be allowed to discard their two lowest races. Buffington has 11 wins on the layout this year, but Saturday marked his fourth DNF of the season.
Taylor Martin also had a big day. She sits third in the points, and while she won't catch the leaders, her second-place finish marked her first career podium on the road course. T.J. Bleau earned his second consecutive podium finish by coming home in third.
