Ryan Ux is the Assistant Sales Manager of Granite State Legends Cars, which is a fully functional legends car and bandolero dealership at NHMS.  The dealership specializes in everything from parts and accessories to ready-to-race cars.  Ux took the time to answer questions about himself as part of this month's Employee Spotlight.

What are your job responsibilities here at NHMS?

"Basically, I focus on the legends car and bandolero series here at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  I'm in charge of upholding all the parts for the cars, making sure we have enough parts in stock, so when it comes to racing, people can come and purchase the parts here.  We also have brand-new race cars, ready to race.  Basically, we're here to promote the series throughout New England and support the racers as well."

What do you like most about working at NHMS?

"I guess I love the racing atmosphere.  I love watching future NASCAR drivers race in these cars at this facility, whether it's on the quarter-mile oval or 1.6-mile road course.  Every once in a while, if I get the chance, I like to go to other race tracks as well and watch some of the races [for these cars].  There's a lot talent, especially among these younger kids that are developing into race car drivers.  Even the older drivers, those in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, they're all out there having the times of their lives.  That's what I enjoy this about this job: making people happy."

What got you interested in NHMS and what got you the job at Granite State Legends Cars?

"Before I came to NHMS, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do.  I knew I wanted to focus on sports, because I'd been playing sports my entire life; I was all about football, baseball, and track and field.  But growing up, I got into motorsports, my dad got me involved, particularly more as a spectator. When I came here for my first race, it was beyond incredible.  I loved the atmosphere.  I loved the fans.  I loved everything about it.  During college, I was very fortunate to make connections with people here at NHMS to get myself involved and over time I helped develop myself more and more to the point where I'm where I am today."

What do you like to do away from the track and how often do you see your family members?

"Luckily enough, my family is in Nashua, which is about an hour away.  I try to visit them as much as I can; I'm definitely a family person.  I enjoy spending the time with my family.  I actually stay with my relatives up in the Lakes Region, so I definitely get excited to see them, and see them all the time.

"As far as outside of here [at NHMS], I basically do everything: I hike; I run; I longboard; I snowmobile; I snowboard; I ski; I go on the motorocycle; I go on the boat.  I basically just do a lot of everything."
