Nate McShinsky is entering his fifth year with New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  He started as an intern and has remained with the NHMS Corporate Sales Department ever since.  He gets this month's Employee Spotlight.

What are your job responsibilities as Corporate Sales Coordinator?

"I'm on the back end of the corporate sales process helping the account executives with proposals, research, client contacts and helping with the activation come race weekend."

When did you start at NHMS?

"I started in January 2011 as the Sales and Marketing Intern while I was finishing up my degree at Southern New Hampshire University.  During the internship, my boss brought me in to his office in March to offer me a full-time position upon graduation in May."

You grew up in Vermont and have been attending races at NHMS since you were young.  How many races have you seen at NHMS?

"As a fan or worker, the only Cup race I ever missed here was Joey Logano's rain-shortened win in 2009, because I was interning for the Fisher Cats at the time.  My background is as a Robert Yates fan because my parents owned a Texaco gas station and Texaco was good to us with tickets and hospitality passes."

What are some of your hobbies away from work?

"My wife, Abigail, and I have four cats.  I also spend a lot of time watching Duke Blue Devils basketball and the Boston Red Sox."

Four cats?! Why so many?

"They're all adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter and their names are Oatmeal, Milah, Echo and Felix.  My wife has shut it off at four.  We joked recently about getting a fifth, but she says that four is enough.  Echo and Felix were actually supposed to be short-term foster cats, but I wouldn't let them go back."
