Matt Rolfe has been the Graphics Specialist at NHMS for three years.  He has this month's employee spotlight and took the time to answer some questions about himself.

What are your job responsibilities at NHMS?

"I'm the Graphics Specialist.  I do all the graphic design work, everything from logos to banners to advertisements to signage, anything graphic-related, I do it all here."

What do you like most about working at NHMS?

"Everything from the design aspect of it to the racing part of it, so it ties in perfectly together."

What got you interested in NHMS and when did you start working here?

"I started as an intern in the summer of 2012.  I went to school at Southern New Hampshire University and my professor knew that I had a racing background, so he put me in touch with the speedway about an internship and that developed into a full-time position."

What kind of background do you have in racing?

"My dad has raced ever since before I was born, so I was born into it.  When I was growing up, he raced locally at Oxford Plains Speedway, and then recently in the last 5-10 years he did more American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series, and now he's become a crew chief and we're working with a younger driver.

"Being at the race track every weekend during the summer growing up, racing has always been a passion of mine.  Everything from NASCAR to short track racing, I enjoy it all, so it ties in with the job perfectly."

What is your family life like away from the trips to the tracks?

"I go home to Maine every few weekends to see my parents.  My dad and I often go to Oxford Casino.  My older sister lives in the Portland (Maine) area and recently had a son, Colin.  I've seen him a few times and look forward to watching him grow up."

Will you try to get Colin into racing?

"I think my dad already has that covered!"

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

"During the summer, I'm at other tracks helping my dad out with the cars.  I also do a lot of iRacing online."
