Three Cup Drivers in Autograph Session
With 63 career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories among the three of them, New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials are pleased to announce a splendid treat for NASCAR fans. Just a few minutes after qualifying for the SYLVANIA 300 – the second race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship – Chase contenders Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch will hold an autograph session in the Display Lot in the NHMS tent.
The autograph session, scheduled from 5:15-6:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, is open to fans on a first-come, first-serve basis. Driver participation is subject to change and without notice. Neither NASCAR, Inc., nor any of its affiliates are sponsors of this event.
“A former champion and two guys who have a great chance to win a championship this year,” said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway, “this is obviously an extraordinary opportunity to meet some of the biggest drivers in NASCAR – in one place at the same time.”
Hamlin, who recently visited a National Guard Aviation facility, as well as fans, media and voters in Concord, N.H., on Sept. 11, entered the Chase this weekend at Chicagoland with the points lead. Hamlin has 21 career victories in his seven-year full-time career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, including a win at “The Magic Mile” back in 2008. He had the dominant car back in July’s LENOX Industrial Tools 301 and should be a force again on Sept. 23.
Harvick has had a quiet season, but should be considered a major player in the Chase. He has 18 career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories, including a win from the pole at New Hampshire back in 2006.
Busch won the inaugural Chase back in 2004 and has 24-career wins in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, including three in New Hampshire. Busch didn’t make the Chase this season, but has to be one of the favorite non-Chasers to pull into Victory Lane at “The Magic Mile.”
The autographs will be available by wristband only and supplies will be very limited. Fans may begin lining up for the autograph session at 4 p.m., and wristbands will be distributed first-come, first-served. Due to time constraints, posed photographs with the drivers will not be allowed.
