MacDonald Wins Exciting ACT Invitational
Eddie MacDonald captured his second American-Canadian Tour Invitational checkered flag at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this evening in the action-packed 50-lap race.
MacDonald is no stranger to running well at “The Magic Mile.” The Rowley, Mass. native boasts five top-five and 12 top-ten finishing positions in both the American-Canadian Tour and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
“We weren’t totally happy with the car during practice today,” said MacDonald. “The guys did an awesome job getting the car ready and in the end I’m just really happy to be in victory lane.
The driver of the No. 17MA Hancock Electric Pontiac battled side-by-side with the No. 40VT of Nick Sweet until the last lap.
“I was going to do whatever I could to win it,” MacDonald added. “I drove it as hard as I could to not let another one get away from us.”
Sweet finished a close second behind MacDonald.
“We had a great race,” said Sweet. “But in the end we just couldn’t finish. Eddie made the track really narrow for me. I definitely got educated by Eddie today.”
The American-Canadian Tour Invitational wrapped up a jam-packed day of racing at the 1.058-mile oval which included the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
