Gappens: NHMS Race Season is Underway
The snow is gone (finally) and we are preparing for what will be a FANtastic 2013 racing season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The last few years have seen major renovations and improvements to our Loudon facilities, to ensure you and your family have the time of your lives. We will continue that pursuit as we embark on some exciting new projects and events designed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
One event in particular will get you up out of your seat, but I can’t talk about that right now in detail. All I can say is I guarantee thrills and excitement and something every race fan in your family will love; heck, it will get the non-racing fans excited, too. More on that news is coming soon.
We know you are excited to see the biggest names in racing come back to New Hampshire to continue their exciting rivalries. Who knows what will greet us inside the gates? Perhaps Joey Logano and Tony Stewart will mix it up again. Maybe we’ll witness a triumphant comeback by Denny Hamlin. Or Junior fans may be cheering the sport’s most popular driver into Victory Lane for the first time at the Magic Mile. Their first appearance is the New Hampshire 300 on July 14.
Until then, we have lots of action packed on the track. The Legends cars have beefed up their schedule this year with full seasons on both the road course and mini-oval. We’ll see BMW enthusiasts and many, many car clubs arrive for some road course action. The Loudon Classic returns for its 90th year from June 14-16. Events large and small start this month, including the Loudon Road Race Series, and the track is ready for all the action. I hope you’ll check our schedule and spend some time hanging out with us this spring.
On a final note, the Boston Marathon tragedy weighs very heavy on all of our hearts. We will continue to keep our thoughts and prayers with all those who were injured and affected. As we do every year, our security directors (who are former high ranking State Police officers) will work with local, state and federal agencies along with NASCAR officials to review, analyze and update our security procedures to ensure the greatest level of safety possible for you. Your safety is our top priority at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, it always will be.
Yours in racing,
