IndyCar Teams Await Panel's Decision
IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Oriol Servia will wait one more day to see how a three-member panel rules on the protest involving last week's finish at New Hampshire.
All three drivers attended Tuesday's hearing in Indianapolis. Series spokeswoman Amy Konrath says the panel is meeting Tuesday afternoon and should announce a decision Wednesday morning.
Newman/Haas Racing and Target Chip Ganassi filed protests after the race. Servia, who drives for Newman/Haas, and Dixon, who drives for Ganassi, both appeared to pass Hunter-Reay, the race leader, on the final restart.
But when Danica Patrick, Hunter-Reay's teammate with Andretti Autsoport, skidded sideways behind the leaders, starting a big crash, race officials stopped the race and reverted to the previous order. The decision gave Hunter-Reay the win.
