Get Down and Dirty at NHMS
Running through mud, leaping out of school buses and climbing steep hills are all things parents tell kids not to do. But during this weekend’s Renegade Playground Challenge at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, getting down and dirty is encouraged for all.
It’s the ultimate adventure 5k race designed to test the physical and mental stamina of all renegades entered. Runners will go out in different waves throughout the day facing a dozen obstacles like “broken ribs,” a group of hanging tires that participants run through on their way to the finish line or act like Spider Man and shimmy up a big rope web before diving into a puddle of mud. In the end, racers will be tired, sore and completely fifthly, but each one will have a smile on their face.
Participants must be 14 years of age and older. Ages under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their registration forms and a waiver. Onsite registration is available, but get there early. For more information on the Renegade Playground Challenge visit www.renegadeplayground.com.
For those fans who would rather watch racing from the comfort of their couches, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will take on the 1.5-mile oval of Kansas Speedway for the fourth race in the Chase. The Hollywood Casino 400 is slated to go green Sunday at 2 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.
