McGrath, 49, joined the speedway in November of 2011 as the director of advertising and promotions. He was recently voted by his peers as the speedway’s Employee of the Year for 2012.
“I’m excited for new challenges and responsibilities,” said McGrath. “This is a great opportunity and I look forward to enhancing the speedway’s marketing efforts.”
McGrath’s new role will be to oversee all marketing aspects of the speedway, including working with guest services on marketing and selling ticket packages, creative direction on commercials, creating event schedules, working with trade shows, email strategy, media plans and placement.
“David is a dynamic and result-driven individual with an impressive career track that combines motorsports, media, marketing, sales, management and agency work into a very impressive and unique skill set.” said Gappens. “In a short time, he has made a positive impact here and I expect great things from him as we move forward.”
Prior to joining New Hampshire Motor Speedway, McGrath worked in motorsports as the marketing manager for the pro racing side of Sports Car Club of America in Englewood, Colo.
