All I Want For Christmas
It's time to finalize the list. Santa leaves the North Pole tomorrow, which means that drivers need to put in their final request to The Man With All the Toys.
Here's what some of this past season's NASCAR drivers have probably requested:
Carl Edwards - A new car
It shouldn't be much of a secret that the big thing wrapped up in Edwards garage is a No. 19 Arris Toyota from Joe Gibbs Racing. After struggling in recent seasons with Roush Fenway Racing, the transition to a new team and a new manufacturer could be exactly what Edwards needs to return to his status as one of NASCAR's best drivers.
Kyle Busch - A new crew chief
Busch is known for his fiery approach and that can wear on his racing relationships over time. That was the case with Dave Rogers, who had been his crew chief since late in the 2009 season. "Park it behind the truck, and take your whiny little ass to the bus," Rogers told Busch after the driver continued to complain about the handling of his car at Bristol in August. The two discussed the issue later, but it was their final season together. Rogers will move to Denny Hamlin's No. 11; Busch will get Adam Stevens as his new crew chief; the move should be beneficial to both.
Marcos Ambrose - A plane ticket
Ambrose gave it a go in NASCAR. Whether it was a lack of competitive equipment or an inability to adapt his road course skills to oval style racing, the Aussie never made it big in America. He won two races in 6.5 years and 227 starts, and both were on the road course of Watkins Glen. He seems excited to be returning home to raise his young children in his native country.
Kyle Larson - A win
Sadly, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year won't find this under the tree this year, but perhaps he should check the inconspicuous bag at the back of the tree. It just might be filled with dozens of gift cards for future redemption.
Kevin Harvick - A Mariah Carey Christmas album
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year to all our fans!
